Company description

framag was founded in 1979 as a subsidiary of Lenzing AG and during this time mainly produced machine and plant parts. The endeavor to develop own products and to open up new business areas leads to close cooperation with Messer Griesheim in Germany. The flame cutting technology division was founded in 1996. The constant further development of products for metallurgical technology and the know-how in plant construction make framag a globally successful partner for the steel industry. In 1986 we started to develop foundations for machines that cause strong dynamic loads. These machine foundations were technically superior to conventionally calculated foundations. This technological leadership was further expanded through the development of the composite material Hydropol®. Many of the most well-known machine tool manufacturers have been using Hydropol® machine frames for years. The collaboration with Mannesmann Demag Meer in Germany gave the impetus for the development of circular saws, which are mainly used in the steel processing industry. The engineering capacity at framag has also been steadily expanded. Engineers are now able to carry out finite element calculations in addition to 3D designs. Static, dynamic or thermal deformations of components can be taken into account as early as the design phase. framag has been owner-managed and family-owned since 1995. Even after more than 40 years, maximum flexibility in the interests of customers and technology leadership is the top priority.
