In 1993, Markus Hipp began working on prototypes and designs for medical implants and instruments in the heart of German medical technology, in Kolbingen in the district of Tuttlingen, and founded HIPP Präzisionstechnik. Originally started as a garage company in its own home, the company gradually developed into a high-performance partner in the fields of medical technology, aerospace technology and the high-tech sectors of mechanical engineering and the automotive industry. With a comprehensive range of services, the superordinate HIPP Technology Group today employs more than 200 people. In 2008, a decisive step was taken with the founding of HIPP medical AG, with Markus Hipp as CEO, in order to consistently align the versatile range of products and services to the special requirements of medical technology. Since 2022, HIPP medical AG has been based in a modern new building with state-of-the-art infrastructure in Renquishausen. In 2019, another milestone was set for the solid growth of the group when the Swiss investment company Kontivia entered the HIPP Technology Group. Markus Hipp remains managing director as the largest single shareholder and can realise the comprehensive growth plans with fresh capital. In addition, the HIPP Group was further strengthened in 2020 by the integration of the sister company Wymed in Freienstein – Teufen, CH.
