Mechanical engineering today is much more than steel, tolerances and control technology. As managing director in medium-sized industrial companies (contract manufacturing sector), I deal daily with the question of how we secure the substance of our companies — and at the same time consistently develop ourselves. My work focuses on three focus topics. First: resilience before pure growth. In times of cost pressure and volatile markets, efficient, resilient process landscapes are the foundation of entrepreneurial stability. The intelligent use of ERP systems and artificial intelligence is not an end in itself, but a central lever for transparency, efficiency and sustainability. Second, technology with meaning. In mechanical and plant engineering, we do not develop products for their own sake. We develop solutions that help our customers use energy more efficiently, reduce emissions and achieve their CO₂ goals. I do not see sustainability as a regulatory obligation, but as a real competitive advantage in an industrial environment. Third: Responsibility in the digital age. For me, topics such as NIS‑2, cybersecurity or the EU AI Act are part of modern corporate management. Compliance is not a brake on innovation, but digital self-protection — for the company and for the people who work in it. I am convinced that real progress comes when technological excellence, corporate security and responsible leadership come together. So that the present has a positive future.
