Who we are
The company Jakob Schäfer was in Kaiserslautern, Mühlstr in 1926. 9 of machinist - champion Jacob Schaefer founded. Mr. Jacob Schaefer worked in the tool room Pfaff , where he took his master's certificate in 1919. First founded Mr. Shepherd has entered the bicycle mechanic Guild, and worked as a guild master. It then bicycles and motorcycles were sold and repaired. Before the second World War II was furnished a cylinder grinding and turning shop. 1944 destroyed a bomb attack the entire operation including residential house and a shop. After the war, Mr. Schaefer from the ruins of an emergency shelter built with a small workshop. Companies - with the currency reform, the structure of today's "Shepherd" began. As of 01.01.1982 the sole proprietorship was changed into a limited liability company. Managing partner was initially Dipl.-Ing. Werner Hilbrath. Since 01.01.1995 Mr. Mechanical engineer Rüdiger scouring held this position. Shareholders are Elke Palm, born Hilbrath and Mrs. Jutta Scheuer, bornHilbrath. In 1990 the office building was enlarged by 100 square meters. After the construction of an additional hall in 1998 the operation are around 2,500 square meters of covered factory area available. Currently, the annual turnover of 4.5 million euros at an average of 45 employees. The GL is based on German quality and the production does not outsource to neighboring countries. The rest of the year, the company under the slogan "Quality ensures the future"
