SCHÖMA - In the team we develop traction! Founded in 1930, SCHÖMA - Christoph Schöttler Maschinenfabrik GmbH - is a manufacturer of rail vehicles and specializes in the development and production of customized, individual transport solutions. Especially in tunneling, SCHÖMA locomotives are used in almost every well-known underground construction project worldwide. Shunting and factory locomotives for in-plant transport in the raw material-producing industry as well as service and maintenance vehicles and special locomotives for use in amusement parks are also included in the scope of delivery of SCHÖMA. On the basis of an economical modular system, SCHÖMA offers its customers a large variety of equipment and variants. Our designers develop individual technical solutions for a wide variety of rail transport problems. With the delivery of a locomotive the job is not done for us. Our fitters take over the commissioning of the locomotives and the briefing on site For decades we guarantee a secure worldwide spare parts supply. In addition to the technical individual transport solutions, we offer corresponding economically customized solutions that relate not only to the individual payment and delivery conditions but also financing and rental of locomotives. For tunnel construction projects, we will take back the locomotives after completion of the projects on attractive terms on request. Quality comes from qualified employees who judge and act on their own responsibility. Our work processes are organized transparently, responsibilities clearly regulated. The quality management system has been successfully certified according to the regulations of DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008. Our company is certified according to DIN EN 15085-2 for the welding of rail vehicles and vehicle parts. SCHÖMA product range Our strength lies in the development and production of locomotives and rail vehicles in customer-specific design, even for the smallest quantities up to lot size one. Underground and tunnel locomotives For tunnel gradients up to approx. 7%, we have developed a special drive system that ensures the necessary traction even under poor track conditions. Factory and work locomotives For such applications we develop shunting locomotives up to approx. 80 t weight and 700 kW engine power in all worldwide standard gauges. Our references cover steel and building material companies as well as the chemical industry. Special rail vehicles For special transport requirements, we offer locomotives, which are usually required in small quantities for special purposes. These are tourist railways and amusement parks as well as working and light rail locomotives, which are mainly needed for narrow gauge rail networks.
