The zinc die casting a zinc alloy melt, the liquid is pressed under high pressure and high speed in a die-casting mold. This process takes place in dependence on the required surface quality and wall thickness within about 10 to 20 milliseconds. Here castings of high precision, hardness and strength can be produced. Because of the relatively low melting point and a particularly narrow solidification range of zinc alloys particularly close tolerances and demanding surfaces can be produced when zinc die casting. In this way the production of large quantities of a molding is possible. Zinc die casting is suitable for the smallest parts up to medium sized parts with complicated shape.
