METALPRESS: 50 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN SHEET METAL WORKING AND FORMING Metalpress is a subcontracting company, based in Verona – Italy, specialising in cold forming and deep drawing and in particular in the production of D-type and E-type dished ends. We mainly process stainless and carbon steel through the use of mechanical and hydraulic presses. Since 2007 we have been certified according to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 guarantee full monitoring and traceability of the production process: from raw material ordering all the way to after-sales service. In 2020 we also obtained AD 2000 W0 and PED 2014/68/EU certification for the processing of carbon steel for the production of dished heads. The Mechanical workshop Wunderlich GmbH was founded in 1985. The focus of the company are in the areas of CNC metal processing, welding, punching, bending and forming. We are able to manufacture a very wide range of products able, ranging from one-off prototypes or replacement parts to high volume series production. We are particularly strong in the milling of large components on envelope, within the tolerance range of + / - 0.001. So workpieces of up to 4.000kg are workable on our horizontal milling machine. By now, we are in a position on our state of the art fully automatic circular saw for aluminum profiles of all types and solid material to cut highly accurate and reliable process and edit. Deep-drawing is a part of Sheet metal processing and the most important forming method for the production of sheet metal parts. According to the definition of DIN 8584, it is tensile compressive forming and the processing is carried out by simultaneous tensile and compressive stress in different operating directions. The drawing method most commonly used is deep-drawing with rigid tools from tool making. The tools consist of a punch, a die and a sheet holder. The sheet metal blank is fixed by the sheet holder and during immersion the stamp spans the sheet in the board across the die radius, pressing it into the die (also called drawing ring). In doing so, the required punch force constantly increases until the dead-centre position is reached. The edges of the punch and the die are rounded, otherwise the sheet might tear. If the roundings are too large, the sheet at the end of the draw can no longer be fixed by the downholder, which may lead to wrinkling. If the draw depth is not reached in a single step, the draw is executed in several steps, especially in case of thick sheet metals.
